Title of the Report: English in International Settings: a Catalyst for Intercultural Competence
Summary
Globalisation has left indelible traces on many interpersonal relations, such as communication. Troublesome situations may arise when there is a linguistic gap among speakers of different languages. The use of English could be considered to mitigate these difficulties and, to a certain extent, overcome the potential impact of cultural differences. The presentation discusses the wheres, hows, and whys of this view.
