Title of the Report: Knowledge in Art and Its Corruption

Summary

The way the art world agrees to know what it knows, especially on its most pressing questions concerning attribution, i.e., who made the artwork, can seem surprising given how much money may rest on those determinations. In fact, however, the epistemology of art remains a confusing and contradictory system of authority in which art forgers have consistently mastered the techniques of manipulating these structures and inserting their fakes, thereby corrupting the very framework of knowledge itself.
